Additional information

Jersey's First World War centenary programme ran across several years, with this 2018 issue marking the final stages of commemoration as the series approached the armistice anniversary. The island's own wartime experience was unremarkable by Western Front standards, but Jersey lost a disproportionately high number of men relative to its population — roughly 6,000 served from an island of under 55,000, with over 860 killed.

The .925 specification and 28.28g weight place this squarely in the Royal Mint's standard crown-sized proof blank, struck under licence and finished at Llantrisant.
