Reverse description A highly detailed, gold-gilded rendering of St. Edward's Crown occupies the right and lower portion of the field, depicted in bold relief against a deeply mirrored proof background. The crown, originally made for the coronation of King Charles II in 1661, is shown with its characteristic arched frame, orb, and cross pattée finial, its jewelled base and velvet cap rendered with exceptional sculptural precision. A two-line legend arcs along the upper left periphery, and the face value £5 appears in the lower left field.
