Additional information

Issued to mark the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth, this piece belongs to a multi-coin Jersey series covering individual plays. Henry V holds particular resonance for a commemorative issuer within the British Crown dependencies — the play's famous St. Crispin's Day speech and the Battle of Agincourt, fought in 1415, remain touchstones of English national identity in ways that carry different weight from the perspective of a self-governing bailiwick with its own Norman heritage.

Jersey has no historic mint; these coins are struck under contract, in this case almost certainly by the Royal Mint on behalf of the States.
