Reverse description Allegorical composition by John Bergdahl depicting two cherubs heralding the arrival of Princess Charlotte, rendered in a baroque style reminiscent of classical heraldic imagery. A central cartouche bears the name of the princess, surrounded by decorative floral and foliate elements inspired by the historic Lily Font, used in royal christenings since 1841. The royal motto appears in a ribbon at the base of the design, with the designer's initials J.B. present in the field. The commemorative inscription and date are incorporated within the overall decorative scheme.

Additional information

Issued to mark the christening of Princess Charlotte, born May 2015 and baptized at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham, in July of that year. Charlotte was the first British princess since 1936 to retain her place in the line of succession regardless of any subsequently born male siblings, following the Succession to the Crown Act 2013 — a legal change that made her birth constitutionally distinct from any comparable royal christening issue before it.
