| Reverse description | The reverse, designed by David Cornell, features a left-facing profile effigy of Queen Elizabeth II set against a dark field, juxtaposed with a typographic composition of key milestones from her reign rendered in varying font sizes. Inscriptions commemorating events such as the Coronation, Television, Everest, 1966 World Cup, Swinging Sixties, Concorde, Decimalisation, Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilees, Millennium, Music, World Wide Web, and Sporting Achievement fill the right-hand field. The denomination £5 appears in the exergue at the base of the coin. |

Issued to mark the point at which Elizabeth II surpassed Queen Victoria as Britain's longest-reigning monarch — a milestone reached on 9 September 2015 — this piece was one of dozens of commemorative strikes produced across British Crown Dependencies that year. Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man each released competing issues in near-identical formats, flooding the collector market and diluting any individual scarcity these pieces might otherwise carry.
The selective gold plating was applied post-striking, a finishing technique that became aggressively common in Crown Dependency commemoratives from the 2000s onward.
