Reverse description A full-length portrait of Queen Elizabeth I, rendered in a formal Tudor style by engraver Rod Kelly, occupies the central field. The figure is framed by four Tudor roses positioned at the cardinal intersection points of a series of connecting arches, forming an ornate decorative surround. The Latin legend, together with the Roman numeral dates commemorating the 450th anniversary of Elizabeth I's accession, runs around the periphery of the design.
