Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, is depicted in right-facing truncated bust, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation. The peripheral legend reads ELIZABETH·II D·G·REG·F·D, with FIVE POUNDS inscribed along the lower rim, all rendered in sharply struck raised lettering against a deeply mirrored proof field.
