Reverse description A boldly rendered raven is depicted in profile, its form overlapping a detailed architectural section of the Tower of London's walls along Mint Street, evoking the historic legend that the kingdom shall fall should the ravens ever leave the Tower. The design, by Glyn Davies, employs rich sculptural relief to contrast the organic form of the bird against the cut-stone masonry of the fortification. The legend 'TOWER OF LONDON' appears below the central design, accompanied by the designer's initials 'GD'. This reverse forms part of the Royal Mint's Tower of London commemorative series. The composition effectively blends heraldic tradition with contemporary medallic artistry.
