Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the third portrait by Raphael Maklouf, depicting the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem, a necklace, and drop earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs across the upper left field, with ALDERNEY continuing to the upper right. The date 2003 appears in the exergue below the truncation. The portrait is rendered with fine cameo contrast befitting a proof issue.
