| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem and a draped neckline, after the portrait by Raphael Maklouf. The legend ELIZABETH II curves along the left periphery and ALDERNEY along the right periphery, both in raised Latin characters. The date 2004 appears in the lower exergue beneath the portrait.
