Obverse lettering BRITANNIAR . REG : F : D ELIZABETH DEI GRATIA FIVE POUNDS ALDERNEY C. I. 2021
Reverse description Adaptation of William Wyon's reverse design from the 1847 Victorian Gothic Crown, featuring the quartered royal arms of the United Kingdom arranged within a cruciform shield. The four quarters display the three lions of England (repeated in the first and fourth quarters), the lion rampant of Scotland, and the harp of Ireland, with the central escutcheon bearing the Garter star inscribed HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. A crowned royal cypher surmounts the shield, with Tudor roses, Scottish thistles, Irish shamrocks, and Hanoverian symbols decorating the intervening spandrels. The outer legend is rendered in elaborate blackletter gothic script, reading TUEATUR UNITA DEUS and ANNO DOM MDCCCXLVII encircling the design.
