| Obverse description | Gothic-style effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing an ornate Gothic crown and an elaborately decorated dress with intricate geometric and floral patterning at the collar, closely inspired by William Wyon's celebrated Gothic Crown portrait of Queen Victoria. The effigy was engraved by Jody Clark and occupies the majority of the field against a deeply mirrored proof background. The surrounding legend is rendered in Gothic blackletter script reading ELIZABETH DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR. REG : F : D, with ALDERNEY C.I., FIVE POUNDS, and the date 2021 also incorporated in the inscription. The border is formed by a continuous row of Gothic quatrefoil ornaments. The engraver's initials JC appear at the lower left of the bust truncation. |

| Reverse description | Gothic-style effigy of Queen Victoria facing left, wearing an elaborate Gothic crown and a richly detailed dress with ornamental latticework, rosette medallions, and floral motifs at the décolletage, faithfully reproducing William Wyon's iconic Gothic Crown portrait first used on British coinage in 1847. The large bust dominates the deeply mirrored proof field, rendered with exceptional sculptural relief. The surrounding legend in Gothic blackletter script reads VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR. REG : F : D, disposed around the periphery. The border is composed of a continuous series of small quatrefoil and cross ornaments consistent with the Gothic aesthetic of the original design. |
