Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the George IV State Diadem adorned with floral motifs, along with drop earrings and a necklace. The portrait, executed in high relief on a mirror-polished proof field, is attributed to the Raphael Maklouf effigy used on Commonwealth coinage from 1985. The peripheral legend reads 'ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY' arcing around the upper portion of the coin, with the date '1997' centered below the bust.
