| Reverse description | A finely engraved three-quarter facing bust of Florence Nightingale dominates the central field, depicted in period nursing attire including a cap and shawl. To the lower left, a circular cameo cartouche features a lit candle with radiating lines, symbolising her iconic role as the 'Lady with the Lamp.' The circumferential legend FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE arcs across the upper field, while the denomination FIVE POUNDS is inscribed along the lower margin in spaced capital letters. |

| Additional information |
Florence Nightingale died in 1910, and the centenary of her death fell in 2010 — making the 2006 date here something of an outlier. Jersey has a pattern of issuing commemorative silver five-pound pieces well ahead of the anniversaries they nominally mark, a practice driven more by collector market scheduling than historical alignment. The actual centenary year saw competing issues from multiple mints across Commonwealth territories.
