Additional information

Issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings, this piece is one of several denominated releases in a Jersey D-Day series, each timestamped to a specific moment in the operation. The 08:20 designation refers to a particular phase of the beach assault timetable — Jersey, as an occupied Channel Island from 1940 to 1945, holds an unusual position in commemorating an operation it could not publicly celebrate at the time of the liberation itself.
