Reverse description The reverse features a striking depiction of the Concorde supersonic airliner in profile flight, rendered with its distinctive delta-wing silhouette crossing the coin from left to right across the central field. An inset crystal or cabochon element is incorporated into the word CONCORDE at the top of the design, replacing the letter O. Above the aircraft, the legend FORTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CONCORDE FIRST TEST FLIGHT and the commemorative dates 1969-2009 are inscribed. The lower half of the reverse is divided into panels listing key technical specifications of the aircraft in vertical orientation, including crew, height, length, range, maximum speed, service ceiling, and climb rate, with the denomination £5 displayed to the upper right.
