Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II·D·G·REG·F·D·5 POUNDS ·2018· J.C
(Translation: Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith)
Reverse description A dramatically close-cropped, full-colour printed image of a red Flanders poppy dominates the field, showing in vivid detail the delicate veining of the crimson petals and the dark, radiating stamens of the flower's centre. The macro-perspective design, engraved by Laura Clancy, fills nearly the entire coin surface, creating a bold and evocative visual tribute to the fallen. The inscription 'REMEMBRANCE' curves along the lower left rim in incuse serif lettering, partially overlapping the colourised image. The engraver's initials 'LC' appear discreetly to the right, near the inner border. The composition commemorates the centenary of the Armistice of 1918 and the enduring symbol of remembrance associated with Flanders Fields.
