Reverse description The reverse, designed by James Butler, presents a bold and detailed rendition of the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom in its full heraldic form. The quartered shield displays the three passant guardant lions of England (quarters one and four), the rampant lion of Scotland (quarter two), and the harp of Ireland (quarter three), surmounted by the Imperial State Crown. The shield is supported on the dexter by a crowned lion statant guardant and on the sinister by a unicorn gorged with a coronet and chained. A garter belt inscribed 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE' encircles the shield, while the motto scroll beneath reads 'DIEU ET MON DROIT'. The date '2013' appears in the lower field, with the engraver's initials 'JB' discreetly placed to the lower right.
