| Obverse description | The second definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Arnold Machin, faces right, her hair dressed and adorned with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The bare-shouldered, draped bust is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. The circular legend surrounding the effigy reads the denomination and royal titles in Latin, separated by raised stops. |

| Reverse description | The full Royal Arms of the United Kingdom are displayed at centre, the quartered shield bearing the arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (a rampant lion), and Ireland (a harp), surmounted by the Royal Crown. The shield is supported to the dexter by the crowned lion of England and to the sinister by the unicorn of Scotland, the latter chained and gorged with a coronet. A riband encircling the shield bears the motto of the Order of the Garter, HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE, while a lower scroll carries the royal motto DIEU ET MON DROIT. The date 2013 appears in the exergue below, with the engraver's initials JB visible to the right of the lower scroll. |
