Obverse description Green intaglio print on white paper with a red underprint; the British Royal Arms vignette is centred at top, flanked by the word FIVE in ornate panels at left and right and by sunburst rosettes. The denomination FIVE POUNDS appears in large bold letters across the centre, with the promise-to-pay text in English and trilingual legends in Sinhala and Tamil along the upper and lower margins.
