Obverse description Uncrowned, draped bust of King Charles III facing left, modelled by sculptor Martin Jennings, occupying the central field of the coin. The circumferential legend reads CHARLES III·D·G·REX·F·D·5 POUNDS·2026, separated by raised dots, running clockwise around the effigy. The engraver's initials MJ appear incuse at the lower right of the truncation. The portrait is rendered in high relief with strong naturalistic detailing of the facial features and hair.
