Additional information

The Isle of Man has long operated with unusual autonomy in its commemorative coinage program, issuing pieces through the Pobjoy Mint and later the Tower Mint under licensing arrangements that give the Manx Treasury considerable latitude — resulting in a volume of commemorative output that exceeds most Crown Dependencies by a wide margin. This 2023 piece was struck during the transitional period following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022, when mints worldwide were simultaneously retiring Elizabeth II dies while rushing Charles III effigies into production.

KM#1757a designates the silver variant within what is typically a multi-composition release, the base metal version sharing the same dies.
