| Obverse description | Central field features a large calligraphic Arabic cartouche in ornate thuluth script, occupying the majority of the field. The Arabic legend 'جمهورية مصر العربية' (Arab Republic of Egypt) curves along the upper rim, flanked by a beaded border. The Hijri year 1411 appears to the right and the Gregorian year 1991 to the left of the central cartouche. Two decorative foliate sprays flank the lower portion of the central device, and the Latin abbreviation 'A.R.E.' is inscribed at the base of the field. |
