Obverse description The obverse features a plain field dominated by the large Arabic numeral '٥' (5) at centre, with the denomination 'جنيهات' (Pounds) inscribed below in stylised Arabic calligraphy. The Arabic legend 'جمهورية مصر العربية' (Arab Republic of Egypt) curves along the upper periphery. The Hijri and Gregorian dual dates '١٤٢٤' and '٢٠٠٣' appear flanking the lower field.
