Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in green intaglio on a pale ground. Two large circular guilloche medallions, each enclosing the numeral '5' and the inscription 'FIVE EGYPTIAN POUNDS' along their lower arcs, are positioned at left and right, flanking an elaborate central arabesque vignette of interlaced foliate scrollwork. The legend 'CENTRAL BANK OF EGYPT' appears in roman capitals across the upper portion, with '5 L.E.' corner numerals repeated at all four corners.
