| Obverse description | Right-facing intaglio portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara occupies the right portion of the note, set against a finely engraved guilloche border. The denomination FIVE POUNDS is printed in large letterpress at centre, flanked by ornamental panels, with an oval guilloche vignette on the left side and a small landscape vignette of a building at lower centre.
