| Obverse description | Central field features the denomination '5' above the Arabic word 'جنيهات' (Pounds), all contained within a raised circular cartouche. Below the cartouche, the dual date '1993 - 1413' is inscribed in both Gregorian and Hijri calendars. The lower portion of the field bears the Arabic legend 'جمهورية مصر العربية' (Arab Republic of Egypt) rendered in bold calligraphic script.
