Additional information

Windschild & Langelott was one of the more active civil engineering contractors in Imperial Germany, and like many large construction firms of the early twentieth century, they issued site-specific token coinage to manage wages and canteen purchases on isolated worksites where Reichsmark coinage was chronically undersupplied. The Lothringen site in Dresden was among several projects for which the firm issued iron tokens — iron being the practical wartime substitute once nickel and copper were redirected to military production after 1914.

The Hasselmann reference confirms at least two die varieties for this denomination at this site.
