| Obverse description | Central field bears the municipal coat of arms of Stendal, a divided shield depicting a rampant lion on the dexter side and three lozenges on the sinister side, rendered in relief. A circular beaded border frames the design, with a small circular hole pierced at the top of the flan. The circumferential Latin legend reads MAGISTRAT DER STADT STENDAL, separated by a small six-pointed star, running along the inner edge of the beaded rim. |

| Reverse description | The central field displays a large, bold numeral '5' enclosed within a twisted rope or cable circle, denoting the face value of five Pfennig. The circumferential Latin legend KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE (small change substitute token) arcs around the upper portion of the field within a beaded border. Three small six-pointed stars are evenly spaced at the base of the inner field below the rope circle. A small circular hole is pierced at the top of the flan, consistent with the obverse. |
