Obverse description A raised pearl border frames the obverse field, within which the municipal coat of arms of Nittenau is centrally displayed: a quartered shield surmounted by a decorative cartouche, depicting two fruiting trees in the upper half and the Bavarian lozenges (Rauten) in the lower half, flanked by scrolled supports. The circular legend MARKTGEMEINDE, reading from upper left to upper right, and NITTENAU, reading along the lower arc, together identify the issuing market commune, separated by two six-pointed star ornaments positioned at either side of the shield.
