Obverse description Plain zinc field at center bearing a large raised numeral '5' in a bold, rounded typeface occupying most of the central area. The figure is enclosed by a continuous beaded border running along the inner rim. The legend 'BERNH. CORDES' curves along the upper periphery and 'LETTE.B.MINDEN' along the lower periphery, each separated by a six-pointed star device, all rendered in raised capital Latin letters within the beaded annulus. The overall design is utilitarian in character, consistent with German World War I-era Notgeld (emergency coinage) production.
