Obverse description A pearl border runs along the octagonal rim, enclosing a circular pearl border within which the municipal coat of arms of Laurahütte is centrally displayed. The shield bears a diagonal band inscribed LAURAHÜTTE, flanked by two standing figures representing miners or industrial workers, with a crossed-hammers emblem at the top of the shield. The legend GEMEINDE LAURAHUETTE arcs around the upper portion of the pearl circle, with the name LAURAHUETTE continuing along the lower arc, both separated by small star ornaments.

Reverse description A pearl border follows the octagonal rim, within which the legend KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE (small change substitute token) arcs around the upper field in bold raised lettering. A twisted rope circle occupies the central area of the reverse, enclosing the large numeral 5 denoting the denomination. Three small five-pointed stars are evenly spaced along the lower margin between the pearl border and the rope circle, serving as decorative separators.
