Obverse description Octagonal flan with a pearl border following the eight-sided outline. An inner beaded circle encloses the large numeral '5' at center, serving as the denomination. The circular legend 'STADT GOTHA' appears above and 'KLEINGELDERSATZ' below, both separated by six-pointed stars, running between the outer pearl border and the inner beaded circle. The overall design is plain and utilitarian, consistent with First World War-era German notgeld emergency coinage.
