| Obverse description | The obverse features the municipal coat of arms of Geiselhöring centrally placed in the field, depicted as a heraldic shield with horizontal bar divisions, flanked by decorative scrollwork supporters and surmounted by an ornamental crest. The shield design reflects the traditional civic heraldry of the Bavarian market town. A circular beaded border frames the design. The circumferential legend reads MARKTGEMEINDE GEISELHÖRING, separated by five-pointed star stops, running around the full periphery inside the beaded rim. |

| Additional information |
Geiselhöring is a small market town in Lower Bavaria, and its 1918 notgeld issue belongs to the vast wave of emergency municipal coinage that flooded Germany as the imperial government lost control of metal supplies in the war's final year. Zinc with nickel plating was the unsentimental solution — copper and nickel in bulk were military property by then. Most of these hyperlocal issues circulated within tight geographic boundaries, redeemable only at the issuing municipality, which is precisely why survivorship varies so sharply between towns of nearly identical size.
