| Reverse description | The reverse is enclosed by a continuous pearl border running the full circumference of the coin. A single large numeral 5, rendered in a bold serif typeface, is prominently centred in the field and occupies the majority of the available space. The flat, unadorned field surrounding the numeral lends a stark, utilitarian appearance characteristic of World War I German notgeld coinage. An iron cross ornament may appear within or adjacent to the pearl border on certain die varieties. |
