Obverse description Printed in black letterpress on plain pinkish-buff card stock, the face carries the denomination '5 Pfennige' in bold Gothic script at the head of the note, beneath which a multi-line promise-to-pay text in smaller Gothic type stipulates redemption at the Städtische Sparkasse Züllichau until 1 July 1917, dated Züllichau, 30 December 1916 and signed on behalf of Der Magistrat. A circular official municipal seal in violet ink is applied to the left of centre, accompanied by a manuscript countersignature in violet ink, with a validity clause at the foot reading 'Nur giltig mit dem Namenszug des Rend. Biehahn.'

Reverse description The reverse, on plain buff-brown card stock, is otherwise blank save for a large violet letterpress cancellation stamp reading 'Entwertet.' applied centrally in the upper portion, confirming the note has been officially demonetized and redeemed by the issuing authority.
