Obverse description Green letterpress Notgeld note with a central vignette of the Neustadt an der Orla town coat of arms — a turreted city gate with shield — flanked by two circular medallions: the left bearing crossed rifles and a bucket, the right bearing crossed implements beneath a crown. The denomination 'FÜNF PFENNIG' is set in bold Gothic lettering across the centre, above the issuing authority text and a manuscript signature of the Bürgermeister dated 23. April 1920.
