Obverse description Central field displays the national coat of arms of El Salvador, featuring a triangular shield surmounted by a radiant Phrygian cap above five volcanic peaks rising from the sea, flanked by five national flags on each side and framed by a wreath of laurel branches tied at the base. The legend REPUBLICA DEL SALVADOR curves along the upper periphery within a beaded border. The fineness 900 appears in the lower left field and the date 1892 in the lower right, with the mint mark C.A.M. centered in the exergue.
