Obverse description The national coat of arms of El Salvador is displayed centrally, featuring a triangular shield surrounded by five volcanic peaks rising above the sea, surmounted by a radiant liberty cap, and flanked by five national flags. The shield is encircled by a wreath of laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon, and two crossed cannons appear beneath. The circular legend REPUBLICA DEL SALVADOR arcs around the upper periphery. In the exergue, the fineness 900, mint mark C.A.M., and date 1892 are inscribed across the lower field.
