Obverse description The national coat of arms of El Salvador is prominently displayed in the center of the field, featuring the triangular shield supported by crossed flags and cannons at the base, surmounted by a Phrygian cap radiating rays above a mountain range. The legend REPUBLICA DEL SALVADOR arcs around the upper periphery, while the fineness designation 900, mint mark C.A.M., and date 1892 appear in the lower exergual area. The entire design is enclosed within a finely beaded border.
