| Obverse description | The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield quartered with a royal palm tree, a rising sun over a seascape, and the fasces emblem, surmounted by the Phrygian cap atop a pike and flanked on either side by a wreath of laurel and oak branches tied at the base. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery in Latin capital letters. The denomination 5 PESOS appears at the base of the coin, while the weight specification 12 G. is inscribed to the lower left and the silver fineness AG 0.999 to the lower right of the arms. |
