| Obverse description | The obverse features the Cuban national coat of arms at center, depicting a shield quartered with a golden key between two landmasses above waves, a royal palm tree on a plain flanked by mountains, and diagonal blue and white stripes representing the sea; the shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap atop a fasces and is flanked by sprays of laurel on the left and oak on the right.
