| Reverse description | The aluminium bronze centre bears a left-facing draped bust portrait of Leona Vicario, the celebrated Mexican independence heroine, rendered in high relief with fine hair detailing. The mint mark 'Mo' and date '2009' appear to the left of the portrait, while the denomination '$5' is positioned to the right. The name LEONA VICARIO is inscribed in the lower portion of the centre field. The stainless steel outer ring carries the legend BICENTENARIO DE LA INDEPENDENCIA along the upper arc and MÉXICO 2010 along the lower arc, commemorating the bicentennial of Mexican independence. |
