Reverse description The aluminium bronze centre features a right-facing portrait bust of Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez, the celebrated heroine of Mexican independence, her hair pinned up and wearing period dress with a shawl. The denomination $5 appears to the left of the bust and the mint mark Mo with the year 2010 to the right. The subject's name JOSEFA ORTIZ DE DOMINGUEZ is inscribed in an arc along the lower portion of the centre field. The stainless steel outer ring carries the commemorative legend BICENTENARIO DE LA INDEPENDENCIA along the upper arc and MÉXICO 2010 along the lower arc.
