The curved legend PATRIA Y LIBERTAD arcs across the upper portion of the coin. The date appears in the exergue, while the weight inscription 8.3592 G. and fineness 900 M. are placed on either side of the portrait in the field. A row of denticles runs close to the rim throughout.
