| Reverse description | The aluminium bronze centre features a left-facing draped bust of Ignacio López Rayón in military uniform, rendered in moderate relief with fine detail to the epaulettes and collar insignia. The denomination $5 appears to the left of the bust and the mint mark Mo with the date 2008 to the right. The sitter's name IGNACIO LÓPEZ RAYÓN is inscribed along the lower arc of the centre field. The outer stainless steel ring carries the commemorative legend BICENTENARIO DE LA INDEPENDENCIA along the upper arc and MÉXICO 2010 along the lower arc, flanked by two small circular stops. |
