Obverse description Printed in black letterpress on plain paper, the face carries the title 'Treasury Emergency Currency Certificate' at the top within a decorative guilloche border running along all four edges, with the series designation 'SERIES OF 1944' at left and the denomination 'FIVE PESOS' in large bold capitals at centre. The redemption text and issuing authority 'Negros Emergency Currency Board' appear in italic script, flanked to the right by a circular green Commonwealth of the Philippines seal, while a green serial number and three manuscript signatures with their respective titles — Acting Treasurer/Member, Governor/Chairman, and Provincial Auditor/Member — occupy the lower portion.

Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in green on plain paper and consists of a simple letterpress design enclosed within a dashed rectangular border ornamented at the corners and sides with repeating geometric units. The numeral '5' appears in each corner and the denomination legend 'Five Philippines Pesos' is set in large bold display type at centre, with 'PESOS' reading vertically along both lateral borders and the Roman numeral 'V' placed at each lower corner.
