Obverse description The obverse features the Mexican National Arms in sculpted high relief at centre, depicting the Golden Eagle perched upon a prickly pear cactus and devouring a serpent, with a wreath of oak and laurel branches below. The national legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS curves along the upper periphery within the stainless steel ring.

Reverse description The aluminium bronze centre displays a right-facing portrait bust of Francisco I. Madero, revolutionary leader and President of Mexico, rendered in engraved relief with fine detail to his beard and jacket. The denomination $5 appears to the left of the portrait, while the mint mark Mo and date 2010 are positioned to the right. The name FRANCISCO I. MADERO curves along the lower arc of the centre. The surrounding stainless steel ring bears the legend CENTENARIO DE LA REVOLUCIÓN along the upper periphery and MÉXICO 2010 along the lower periphery, flanked by two small circular ornaments.
