The Banco de Victoria was one of several short-lived provincial banks chartered in Bolivia during the early 1870s, a period when the central government permitted regional institutions to issue their own currency — an experiment that largely collapsed within a decade as the War of the Pacific disrupted the country's financial architecture and hastened centralization efforts.
PS#1924 is among the rarer entries in the Bolivian private bank section of the Specialized catalog. Surviving examples are infrequent enough that auction appearances tend to be isolated events rather than recurring supply, which makes condition assessment against a population baseline difficult.
