Obverse description	Intaglio portrait of General José de San Martín occupies the right portion of the note, rendered in fine engraved line work against a green and blue guilloche underprint. To the left, a large numeral '5' appears above the denomination 'CINCO PESOS', flanked by a floral guilloche vignette in purple and gold tones with a silhouette of the Monument to the Army of the Andes. A coloured optically variable ink element and a sun rosette with the numeral '5' appear at lower left, with the serial number printed vertically in red on the left margin.
